Young Leaders Perspectives
The French-American Foundations in the US and France hosted a joint Zoom webinar on Thursday, May 28 at 12:30pm ET with two Young Leaders, Bhama Ramkhelawon (American Young Leader ’19) and Adrien de Chaisemartin (French Young Leader ’16), to discuss research, vaccines, and medicine during COVID-19.
Bhama Ramkhelawon: Bhama Ramkhelawon is an assistant professor in the department of surgery and cell biology and the director of the vascular research program at New York University Langone Medical Center. She has held this position since 2016 and heads a team of scientists focused at understanding the physiopathology of complex life-threatening cardiovascular diseases.
Adrien de Chaisemartin: Adrien de Chaisemartin is the Director of Strategy and Performance at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. This public-private partnership launched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000 supports the access to vaccines in the poorest countries and has contributed to save more than 7 million lives since its creation.
