Born in Bordeaux in 1982, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal spent her childhood in Saint Emilion, close to the vineyards which had been carefully tended by seven generations of her family
As from these founding years, she was convinced that her future would be inextricably linked with Angélus.
Having graduated from Bordeaux’s Faculty of Economics and then France’s ESCP-EAP business school, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal left for London to take up a post at UBS where she stayed until 2009, before joining the Swiss bank, Pictet. During these years she sharpened her taste for entrepreneurship, while enjoying opportunities to rub shoulders with enthusiasts of great wines.
Appointed a member of Angélus’s Supervisory Board in 2009, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal became actively involved in the management of the estate and in particular the promotion of Angélus in markets around the world.
Eager to widen her knowledge of vineyards and wine, she studied at London’s prestigious Wine & Spirit Education Trust and was awarded its international Advanced Certificate diploma in 2011.
In 2012, the year of her thirtieth birthday, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal left the Pictet bank in order to devote her time to the family business in France. On being appointed Assistant General Manager, she put in place her own projects, among which featured the acquisition of new plots of vines, the building of a new storage and vinification cellar, and the purchase of the Logis de la Cadène hotel-restaurant, which was recently awarded a Michelin star.
Currently General Manager of the estate, Stéphanie is carefully leaving her individual mark on the estate while continuing to travel around the world to promote, through the wines of Angélus, the excellence of French savoir-faire, to which she is firmly attached.
