Married with two children, Perrine Montel is an engineer from the National Graduate School of Chemistry of Lille (France), with a specialization in fire and explosion studies (University of Leeds, United Kingdom).
Joining the Army in 2003, she chose to serve in the civil security branch of the Engineering corps. She spent three years at the military civil security corps and was involved in wildfire fighting missions and in radiological and chemical interventions.
She then joined the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) where she led rescue operations for 12 years, facing more than 700 fires, explosions and accidents. In 2013, she became the first female commander of an operational company at the BSPP, in command of 170 firefighters. All these years allowed her to truly experience leadership and operational engagement, for which she has the deepest interest.
Selected for the French Staff College (‘École de guerre’) in 2017, she was assigned to the French permanent military representation to NATO Headquarter in Brussels for one semester in 2019. Currently internal auditor at the French Army Staff College, she has been involved as reinforcement staff for the French Health Ministry during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. She will be soon part of the 2020-2021 Class of the French Staff College.
