David Vaillant

David started his career as an attorney with one of the largest M&A law firms, Skadden

He also worked for the French supreme administrative court. He later joined the Central bank, where he led the analysis of large transactions in the financial sector (postal bank creation, NYSE/Euronext merger, etc.), and drafted regulation with the French Treasury and Department of Justice. David then joined BNP Paribas CIB as an investment banker. As such, he ad¬vised on some of BNP Paribas’ key acquisitions, and developed the emerging markets franchise.

As Managing Director and Deputy Head of EMEA Banking, David now oversees M&A, restructuring and capital markets transactions across the entire region. He also spearheaded the development of the State advisory and restructuring practice, notably advising the Greek Ministry of Finance and Central Bank of Portugal during the financial crisis.

He is a frequent speaker and contributor to financial and public policy issues, and has taught law, finance, advanced and international macroeconomics at HEC and Sciences Po. Drawing from his personal experience, David has been involved in, and developed, social entrepreneurship programs focusing on equal opportunity in education, and co-founded a non-profit organization that implement­ed one of the most ambitious mentoring programs for students in underprivileged areas. Lastly, David is a keen music enthusiast. He was COO/CFO of an online streaming start-up, and has recently founded a non-profit organization supporting jazz and innovative musical projects.

David graduated from HEC, Sciences Po, Ecole Normale Supérieure/EHESS, Sorbonne and Assas Universities, and is admitted to the Paris Bar.
