The World After COVID-19, June 25, 2020
The French-American Foundation hosted a Young Leaders Perspectives webinar to discuss the potential outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic with Bertrand Badré (French Young Leader ’02) and Philippe Manière (French Young Leader ’94).
The speakers drew from their respective backgrounds in finance and economics to examine the impact of the virus from a global perspective. Bertrand Badré is CEO and Founder of Blue Like an Orange Sustainable Capital and held prior roles at the World Bank, Société Générale, and Crédit Agricole. Philippe Manière is the president and co-founder of Vae Solis Communications, a Paris-based consulting firm specializing in communications, crisis communications and public affairs. His prior roles include a position at the Commission Economique de la Nation.
Topics addressed included the effects of the pandemic on public opinion of the financial sector and the influence of technology and cyber threats. The speakers engaged in a lively debate about what is directly linked to COVID-19, the nature of capitalism, and more.
The French-American Foundation developed this webinar initiative to continue our mission of encouraging transatlantic dialogue while prioritizing the health and safety of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our webinars take place throughout the month.
