Good Leadership: A Transatlantic Model, July 15, 2020
The French-American Foundation hosted a Zoom webinar to discuss leadership in a transatlantic context. The event featured guest speaker General Wesley Clark, retired four-star general in the US army and Young Leader ’83, and moderator Scott Handler, VP of Strategy and Chief Information Security Officer at WireWheel and Young Leader ’13.
The speakers began by discussing the concept of leadership. They examined what it means to be an effective leader in an international setting, the historical role of NATO in transatlantic relations, and the state of international institutions today.
In addition, the conversation addressed the greatest contemporary challenges to transatlantic and international collaboration. Responding to questions from the audience, the speakers discussed the influence of China and Russia, points of tension between the US and Europe, and what can be done to mend the transatlantic partnership in the face of challenges like COVID-19, cyber threats, and more.
The French-American Foundation developed this webinar initiative to continue our mission of encouraging transatlantic dialogue while prioritizing the health and safety of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our webinars take place throughout the month.
