Jean-Yves Fillion & the Growth of BNP Paribas

On June 5, the French-American Foundation hosted a board luncheon with special guest Jean-Yves Fillion, CEO of BNP Paribas USA. Moderated by Young Leader and PIMCO Senior VP Maya Kalieva Henry, the discussion provided insight into Mr. Fillion’s background and the growth of BNP Paribas in recent decades. The French-American Foundation celebrated its annual gala dinner the night before.
Mr. Fillion spoke about the trajectory of his career during his tenue at BNP Paribas, the maintenance of a competitive and successful business model in the American market, and the growth of the bank in North America. Questions from Ms. Henry and audience members included the role of a bank in fostering sustainability and the impact of Brexit on the bank.
The French-American Foundation’s board luncheons are opportunities to bring together board members, program participants, and friends of the Foundation at discussions surrounding topical questions in French-US affairs.
