Fostering Creativity & Innovation

Arts, Education & The Economy

The French-American Foundation, in partnership with the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, will bring five American cultural administrators to Paris and Lyon as we continue the Courants study tours on creativity and innovation. The study tour will feature a series of meetings and site-visits showcasing successful initiatives in France that foster creativity and innovation in the arts, education, and the economy at large.

Some of the themes that will be evoked include:

  • Creative (and cultural) entrepreneurship; creative workplaces; socially responsible, sustainable, and innovative business models;
  • Interdisciplinary approaches, institutional collaborations across schools, academic institutions, and fields of practice;
  • Innovative educational models and ecosystems that develop critical and creative thinking

In December 2014, the French-American Foundation welcomed in New York a delegation of five French experts from various cultural fields and institutions for a reciprocal study tour that focused on New York initiatives that foster innovation in the arts, innovative artistic and cultural collaborations, and innovation in arts education.

For more than ten years, the French-American Foundation, in partnership with the French Ministry of Culture, has organized study tours for cultural professionals to examine priorities and trends in their field of expertise in the other country. The program consists of two study tours every year, one in the United States and one in France, involving French and American experts. The study tours feature a series of meetings with leading professionals that provide a platform for dialogue and exchange of best practices.
