25th Annual Translation Prize Awards Ceremony

The French-American Foundation and Florence Gould Foundation celebrated the 25th anniversary of their prestigious Translation Prize.
This special occasion was commemorated with a discussion on the current challenges of working with translations and featuring special guests:
- David Bellos, an author, translator and Professor of French and Translation at Princeton University, and winner of the 3rd Translation Prize.

- Lydia Davis, an author and translator and triple winner of the Translation Prize (7th, 17th, 24th Translation Prize Awards)
- Lorin Stein, a translator and the Editor of the Paris Review
- Alyson Waters, a translator and Professor of French and Translation at Yale University and New York University
The annual Awards Ceremony, which followed the panel discussion, honored this year’s fiction and nonfiction finalists and revealed the winners in each category.
This event was hosted at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York.
Since 1986, the French-American Foundation, with the long-standing support of the Florence Gould Foundation, has awarded annual prizes for the best translation from French to English in fiction and non-fiction.
