with Marisa Tramontano Lecturer, John Jay College of Criminal Justice
Marisa Tramontano is a lecturer in social, political, and gender theory at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She recently defended her dissertation in sociology at The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
Marisa received her Master’s of Science in Global Affairs with a concentration in Transnational Security and a specialization in Gender from New York University SPS Center for Global Affairs in 2012 and ran the Off-the-Record Lecture Series at the Foreign Policy Association from 2007 to 2011. Her dissertation, “Righteous Retaliation: The Hunt for Osama bin Laden” examines the role of gender and race in government, news, and entertainment media discourses about counterterrorism. Marisa is also a community organizer in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
