Young Leaders Café: Accelerating Impact: Next-Level Strategies in Climate Action
Invite Only
On Thursday, April 25th, the French-American Foundation relaunched its Young Leaders Café series with a café entitled “Accelerating Impact: Next-Level Strategies in Climate Action.” Created in 2020 during the pandemic, the Café series aims to bring French and American Young Leaders, from all classes, together over Zoom for intimate, frank discussions on a topic of transatlantic interest. Cafés are private for Young Leaders, giving them the opportunity to deepen their ties to the alumni network, make new connections, and learn more about new or unfamiliar topics and professions.
Our first Café of 2024 allowed Young Leaders and alumni from both sides of the Atlantic to hear from peers working to make a concrete, lasting impact in the fight against climate change. In addition to learning more about participants’ work and leadership in the sustainability space, Young Leaders explored the roles of climate tech, investment and policy – as well as challenges and opportunities – in the global net-zero movement.
The café featured the following Young Leaders and alumni:
- Alice Albizzati (French YL ’23 – Founding Partner, Revaia).
- Vincent Bryant (French YL ’23 – CEO and Cofounder of Deepki).
- Newton Campbell (US YL ’20 – Director of Space Programs, AROSE).
- Vilas Dhar (US YL ’23 – President, Patrick J. McGovern Foundation).
- Fatima Hadj (French YL ‘14 – Co-founder, Climate Action Women and Climate Investment Strategist, HSBC).
- Laura Letourneau (French YL ’22 – Expert Advisor, General Secretary for Ecological Planning, French Prime Minister).
- Michael Woo (US YL ’94 – Dean Emeritus of the College of Environmental Design at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona).
