The French-American Foundation, in partnership with Alliance, hosted a Zoom webinar on Tuesday, June 16 at 1:00pm ET with Dr. Emanuele Ferragina, Associate Professor of Sociology at Sciences Po, on mass protest movements in the US & France. The event was moderated by Dr. Frances Fox Piven, Distinguished Professor Emerita at CUNY.

Emanuele Ferragina: Emanuele Ferragina is Associate Professor of Sociology at Sciences Po Paris, a member of the Observatoire Sociologique du Changement (OSC, CNRS) and the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire d’Evaluation des Politiques Publiques (LIEPP). Prior to Sciences Po, he was a Lecturer at the University of Oxford where he also received his PhD. Emanuele is interested in comparative social policy.

Frances Fox Piven: Frances Fox Piven is an internationally renowned social scientist, scholar, and activist whose commitments to poor and working people, and to the democratic cause have never wavered.  Piven’s professional accomplishments in the world of academia place her among the ranks of the most important social scientists of the last century.
