Announcing the 2024 Class of Young Leaders
June 27, 2024
The French-American Foundation is thrilled to announce the 2024 Class of Young Leaders, a dynamic group of 12 rising stars from a variety of fields, including academia, technology, law, business and finance, media and journalism, and more. This year’s Young Leaders class is not only united in its dedication to forging transatlantic bonds, but also in its proximity to some of France and the U.S.’s most pressing issues, including diplomacy and security, emerging technologies, climate strategy, and more.
It’s always a wondrous thing to meet others who are like-minded in their passion to explore, be critical, and make impact in the world we live in, even if we may differ in our path. It is this diversity that invites discussion, debate, and ultimately the impact and change we all seek.
– Kalyanee Mam, Documentary Filmmaker and US YL 2011
In today’s increasingly polarized world, strong international alliances are more important than ever. For over 40 years, the Young Leaders program has prided itself on bringing together exceptional leaders from all walks of life with one thing in common: a passion for using their leadership skills to create positive change in a globalized world through the Franco-American relationship.
In a time when international relations continue to be strained everywhere, I think organizations like FAF and the YL program are more important than ever.
– Jesus Salazar, President & CEO of Prosono and US YL 2016
This October, our French and American Young Leaders will travel with their 2023 counterparts to Miami, Florida for an intensive 5-day seminar, where they will participate in various discussions and activities around the topic of leadership in a transatlantic context. Along the way, Young Leaders will meet other extraordinary leaders in fields such as biodiversity and journalism, create meaningful connections with each other, and deepen their understanding of the Franco-American alliance.
Our Young Leaders will also join a nearly 600-strong alumni network that includes passionate and impactful leaders such as former U.S. President Bill Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson, French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Félicitations to the 2024 class of Young Leaders! It is a privilege to welcome you into the program, and we look forward to seeing you in Miami later this year.
