Chicago Forum Launch
The French-American Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of its new Transatlantic Forum chapter in Chicago, Illinois. With the rapid growth of its flagship chapter in New York City, this step represents a growing enthusiasm for advancing transatlantic dialogue. We are proud to work with the French Consulate in Chicago and friends of the Foundation in this new development. For our first Forum in Chicago, we hosted three political experts to discuss the upcoming American elections.
Ron Sorini (speaker): Ron Sorini is Principal at Sorini, Samet & Associates LLC. He manages the firm’s business development, consulting, and lobbying practice, which focus on legislation, regulatory affairs and international trade negotiations. He represents a wide range of companies and trade associations before the U.S. Congress and various governments. Mr. Sorini’s unique combination of government, political, and corporate experience enables him to offer well-rounded strategic advice and international market analysis to multinational corporations and foreign governments. A recognized expert in the areas of trade negotiations, international politics, and the economy, Mr. Sorini has been featured on NPR including All Things Considered and Planet Money, CNBC, Voice of America, and others.
Maura Sullivan (speaker): Maura C. Sullivan serves as Chief Executive Officer at the Warrior-Scholar Project, a dynamic national non-profit that empowers servicemembers as they transition from the military to higher education. She is a former U.S. Marine Corps Officer and Iraq Veteran. Sullivan’s leadership and service spans the military, government, private, and non-profit sectors.
Frank Sensenbrenner (moderator): Frank J. Sensenbrenner is a quantitative risk manager with the US Commodities Futures Trading Commission. In this role, he builds mathematical tools to analyze systemic risk in derivatives markets, and participates in examinations of clearinghouses to ensure their risk modeling is robust. He formerly worked in bank risk modelling at the Northern Trust Corporation and, as a management consultant at Deloitte.
