Leadership & Moving Forward
What a beautiful November!
For the first time at the French-American Foundation, we organized a Leadership Month this October that, my team and I are thrilled to share, was a huge success.
Our events inspired many of our guests and members to question the fundamentals of leadership and their role as leaders. We hosted a Policy Breakfast with Scott Stringer about environmental protection and fiscal resilience in NYC, a Transatlantic Forum with Beth Fisher-Yoshida on leadership in the workplace, and the moment we’ve been waiting for all year, the 2018 Young Leaders seminar.
Our group of American Young Leaders had the pleasure of meeting their French counterparts in Paris and Toulouse. Over the course of the week, they met with President of political party En Marche at the Assemblée Nationale and Spokesperson of the French Government Mr. Benjamin Grivaux; had lunch on the Seine with Chairwoman of Sodexo Sophie Bellon; discussed the future of Franco-American relations with Secretary John Kerry; visited Toulouse and got a closer look at the inner workings of Airbus; and even played rugby with Emile Ntamack (one of the best moments of them all!). But the most important of all these events was seeing the friendships and connections created between the French and American Young Leaders. That is at the heart of our work: to form lasting ties between leaders that contribute to the growth of the Franco-American relationship.
We are now approaching the end of the year with a look at what awaits us in 2019. We invite you to reach out to us with potential candidates for the Young Leaders program and the Transatlantic Forum, which continues to grow and welcome more and more people!
This November, we began the month with Ambassador François Delattre at a luncheon discussion on Franco-American relations, to be followed by innovate discussions on Blockchain and the midterm elections with experts in cyber security and campaign strategy.
We’ll have many more projects to share with you in 2019. As always, your contributions to the French-American Foundation are essential to the work we’re able to accomplish. We hope to see you at our upcoming events as we continue to work together toward a strengthened transatlantic partnership.
Sincerely,
Emeline Foster
