Kathryn Harrison
Kathryn Harrison is currently the founder and CEO of MAGPIE, a venture backed, fintech platform democratizing access to alternative assets. A two time founder, Kathryn launched the DeepTrust Alliance, a non-profit global coalition of stakeholders building the solutions and ecosystem to tackle malicious deepfakes and disinformation in 2019.
Prior to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Kathryn spent nearly a decade at IBM. She most recently served as Director of Global Product Management for IBM Blockchain Platform, where she was the executive responsible for developing and delivering IBM’s open source contributions to Hyperledger as well as its blockchain software products.
Kathryn began her career in financial services at Gerson Lehrman Group in New York and Hong Kong. As a founding member of GLG Asia, she first led legal, political and regulatory research and then business development for the firm’s clients in Asia.
She is a term member on the Council of Foreign Relations, an American Council on Germany Young Leader, a French American Foundation Transatlantic Forum member, and a frequent conference speaker on topics related to identity, cybersecurity, deepfakes and blockchain.
Kathryn has a Bachelor of Science from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, an MBA from the Wharton School and an MA from the Lauder Institute both at the University of Pennsylvania. Based in Bozeman, MT, Kathryn enjoys trail running, skiing, raising chickens, and mentoring women in technology.
