Jadzia Pierce

Jadzia Pierce is the European Data Protection Officer for Microsoft, where she oversees the implementation and maintenance of Microsoft’s data protection program and serves as the main point of contact for regulators and data subjects, including with respect to privacy and AI, children’s data, and data subject rights. Prior to this role, she was Microsoft’s Director of Global Privacy Policy, where she advocated for the company’s policy priorities while helping internal business teams “see around corners” and anticipate broader legal trends on a global scale. She previously served as the lead cybersecurity lawyer for McKinsey & Company.

Prior to these in-house counsel roles, Ms. Pierce was an associate in Covington & Burling’s Privacy & Cybersecurity practice group, where she counseled multiple Fortune 100 clients regarding the shifting privacy legal landscape at the U.S. state, federal, and international level and assisted corporate legal, engineering, and operations teams in bringing their global privacy programs into compliance. She also served as a Privacy, Surveillance, & Security Fellow for the Center for Democracy & Technology.

Ms. Pierce currently lives in London with her husband and two Labrador retrievers, Austin and Duke (her pride and joy).
