Anshuman Sahoo

Anshuman “Ansu” Sahoo is a Vice President at Capital One, where he heads a team that organizes and leads company-wide climate strategy efforts. He joined Capital One from BCG, where he was a Partner and core member of BCG’s Energy and Climate & Sustainability Practice Areas. While at BCG, he helped clients decarbonize their businesses, identify solutions to pressing climate challenges, and pursue opportunities implied by the energy transition. Previously, he was a researcher at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a consultant to the Climate Policy Initiative and Asian Development Bank.

Ansu has authored peer-reviewed journal articles, white papers, and case studies on energy and climate topics. He enjoys sharing his perspectives as a speaker at industry and university events and with a range of early-stage startups that are developing new climate-related offerings. His work draws on his background in energy economics, finance, and policy. He holds a PhD in Management Science and Engineering and MS in Statistics from Stanford University, as well as a BSE in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University.

Besides his passions for climate and energy, Ansu enjoys running, urban hiking, learning languages, and traveling. He recently relocated to Washington, D.C. from San Francisco with his spouse and five-year-old daughter.
