Thomas Clozel
Thomas is an oncologist trained in Paris and NYC. After his assistant professorship at Henri Mondor Hospital, Thomas co-founded OWKIN, the first Franco-American unicorn in AI for medical research, supported by numerous funds including Google Ventures and Sanofi. OWKIN aims to recreate a pharmaceutical industry augmented with artificial intelligence, using a platform that access highly curated patient data from more than 30 of the largest academic hospitals in the world. OWKIN is a pioneer in generative AI technologies for biology enabling new medical breakthrough, and federated learning to train algorithms on distributed medical data in a privacy preserving setting. A mid-level tennis player, Thomas is passionate about nothing but curious about just about everything, and defines his culture as peripheral, being able to talk about medicine like household gadgets, the latest album from The National, or discuss books he hasn’t read yet.
