Lara Aryani

Lara Aryani is a partner in the New York office of Shearman & Sterling’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice.

Her practice includes the representation of clients on a broad range of complex strategic transactions, including public and private and domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, joint ventures, consortium investments, divestitures and carve-outs. Lara also advises clients on a range of ESG considerations and governance matters.

She has experience across a wide range of industry sectors, including renewable and transitional energy, oil and gas, chemicals, technology, fintech, media and broadcasting, industrials, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and financial services. Lara’s clients include multinational corporations and their board of directors (or special committees of the board), as well as hedge fund and private equity sponsors, family offices and pension funds.

Lara received a J.D. from Emory University School of Law, an M.A. in Arab Studies from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, and a B.A. from the University of Virginia.
