Jérôme Batout

Jerome Batout started his career as an M&A analyst at Credit Suisse. He worked as Project Administrator for Doctor Without Borders in the Afghan / Pakistani border areas. He then focused his career on media and communications in France and became Chief of Staff to Maurice Lévy (CEO Publicis Groupe) in 2011. He was appointed Special Adviser to Prime Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault in charge of Strategy, Media and Communication in 2013. In 2016, Jerome was named Managing Director at Publicis Media France, one of the 4 business divisions of Publicis Groupe.

Since 2014, Jérôme Batout is an Editorial Advisor to French intellectual review Le Debat, published by Gallimard in Paris. Working alongside Pierre Nora and Marcel Gauchet, founders and editors, Jerome Batout is part of the editing process and regularly contributes to this landmark publication in the French intellectual landscape.

Jerome is a graduate from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris, and holds a PhD in Philosophy and Social Sciences from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). His doctoral thesis focused on the modern understanding of value in economics and philosophy. He was a lecturer in finance at the London School of Economics from 2003 and 2009, and seconded to the Chulalongkorn University (Bangkok) and to Beida (Peking University).
