Brittany Hughes, Esq.

Brittany Hughes, Esq. is an experienced Attorney and public servant. Over the span of her career, she has developed a deep expertise in legal and legislative issues related to national security, migration, appropriations, and tax policy. She began her career in Congress in service to the late Congressman John Lewis who she worked for in various capacities including as Counsel and Deputy Legislative Director. On behalf of the Congressman, she managed an extensive portfolio of issues including tax policy before the Ways and Means Committee. She later pursued private sector work at Ernst and Young LLP where she further developed her expertise on matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Treasury, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

Deciding to return to Congress, Mrs. Hughes served as a Legislative Director in the House of Representatives where she worked extensively on Homeland Security appropriations. Today, she serves as Counsel in the U.S. Senate on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Through her work Mrs. Hughes has demonstrated both a passion and expertise for issues impacting national security and democracy. She continues to play a pivotal role in congressional oversight and legislative development. Sheis deeply committed to supporting bilateral relationships having worked with individuals and companies across the globe. She is a Civil Society Fellow with the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She is the recipient of the Excellence in Service Award from the Parris Institute at Pepperdine School of Law and the Young Alumnus Award. She is a Member of the Alabama Bar and the Supreme Court Bar.
