Join l’Association des Amis des Amis des Grandes Ecolesde France at the Yale Club on October 5th for a conversation with Ambassador Pierre Vimont, Visiting Professor at Columbia University and former Executive Secretary-General of the European External Action Service, on:
“In September 2017, French President Emmanuel Macron proposed in a speech at La Sorbonne an initiative meant to “rebuild a sovereign, united, and democratic Europe.” One year later, how have France’s European partners responded to this initiative? What has been achieved? And what hurdles still need to be overcome?
Pierre Vimont will analyze the vision for Europe and the concrete steps proposed by President Macron a year ago. He will also discuss the larger context within the European Union and the developments, such as Brexit and the elections to European Parliament, to take place in the year to come.
