Josh Lozman

Josh is deputy director of program advocacy at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In this role, he leads the foundation’s advocacy strategies in the areas of agriculture, family health, and financial services for the poor.  

Immediately prior to joining the Gates Foundation, Josh served in the Obama Administration as the chief of staff to the National Economic Council in the White House. He spent more than four years at the global advocacy organization, ONE, including roles as global policy director and chief of staff. During his time at ONE, he was the lead author of ONE’s DATA Report which monitored OECD country commitments to development and led the policy development for several of ONE’s highest profile global campaigns.

Josh has worked at development policy organizations including the Global Health Council and the Center for Global Development and has worked on several federal election campaigns. Josh holds an MBA and a master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University. He is currently a doctoral candidate and Sommer Scholar at Johns Hopkins University.
