Chloe Demrovsky, YL ‘19

Chloe Demrovsky is an internationally recognized thought leader on all things risk and resilience. She is the youngest and first female Chief Executive of Disaster Recovery Institute, the leading global nonprofit serving resilience professionals, is a Senior Contributor at Forbes and an Adjunct Professor at NYU.

She has presented at dozens of events across five continents and has conducted on-site briefings for government officials and government bodies including the US Congress, the European Commission and the United Nations, as well as for visiting delegations. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Board Director for United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) ARISE, the DRI Foundation, Bard College at Simon’s Rock Board (Vice-Chair), and Plastic Omnium. She is a French-American Foundation Young Leader, Class of 2019.

Adam Hodge, YL ‘19

Adam Hodge serves as Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Media & Public Affairs. He is a veteran communications strategist with experience advising several senior government officials and business leaders. He previously served in the Obama-Biden Administration as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the U.S. Treasury Department where he led the communications efforts for a range of domestic finance issues.

Most recently, Adam was the Senior Vice President for External Affairs at Ariel Investments. Before joining Ariel, Adam worked for SKDKnickerbocker and was the Communications Director at the Democratic National Committee, having previously served as a Regional Press Secretary. Earlier in his career, Adam served as the Press Secretary for House Majority Whip James Clyburn, on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and in the office of former Senator Christopher Dodd.

Originally from St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, Adam is a graduate of Wesleyan University with a BA in government, concentrating on International Relations.

 

 

Melissa Sawyer

Melissa Sawyer is Global Head of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group and co-head of the Firm’s Corporate Governance Practice. She regularly advises clients on M&A transactions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, corporate governance, activism and takeover defense matters. Melissa’s experience spans multiple industries, including consumer and retail, TMT, technology, industrials and life sciences.

Melissa has been repeatedly recognized as a leading M&A adviser. She is a two-time winner of The American Lawyer’s “Dealmaker of the Year,” was named a Client Service All-Star by BTI, and was named to The Deal’s “Women in M&A: The Powerhouse 20.” Melissa has been recognized as a Law360 MVP, one of Crain’s “Leading Women Lawyers in New York City,” and one of Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Dealmakers in America.”

Along with the French-American Foundation, Melissa serves on the boards of several corporate governance organizations. She also regularly participates in legal panels and writes for leading legal publications.

Melissa holds a B.A. from Washington and Lee University, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School.
