Marti Adams Baker

Marti Adams Baker is an Associate at the global communications advisory firm Brunswick Group, where she focuses on crisis communications, corporate reputation, and cybersecurity preparedness and breach response. Marti joined Brunswick from the Office of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, where she advised the Mayor, deputy mayors and key city agencies on day-to-day and long-term communications strategy and media engagement, first as First Deputy Press Secretary, then as Deputy Communications Director to Mayor de Blasio.

Prior to City Hall, Marti spent six years serving in key communications roles for President Obama, on both of his presidential campaigns and at the Treasury Department, where she was one of the 19 “Day One” staffers appointed to Treasury at the start of the Obama Administration at the height of the Financial Crisis. A native of McLean, Virginia, Marti is a graduate of Spelman College, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in History, and minored in French language and culture.
