Marie-Laure de Bailliencourt

Marie-Laure is an international banker, having spent the last 13 years working on trading floors in Paris, London and New York.

Today a Managing Director of BNP Paribas USA Inc, she arrived in New York in 2013, leading a cross-border internal consulting team (a hybrid of McKinsey and BNP Paribas) on a transformation program which improved transparency, strategic prioritization and alignment to drive greater efficiency, effectiveness and ultimately revenues.

She was then asked to manage a newly created initiative within Capital Markets and was appointed Head of Marketing, Communication and Events and Head of Client Development for BNP Paribas trading activities in the Americas. She is also chairing and participating in several committees around Women in Leadership, CSR, Digital/Innovation and Employee Training for BNP Paribas Americas.

Marie-Laure’s specialty has thus become the constant and current transformation of international Capital Markets. Always passionate about global trends, she has not only travelled all continents: Marie-Laure was born and bred to a “cross-border environment” with an AngloSaxon mother (herself raised in America) and a French father born in Germany, brought up in North Africa and employed on several continents.

Her love of extra-curricular outdoor activities dates from university, when for several years she led the Challenge Spi Dauphine, a nonprofit team of 40 members organizing a one-week student/corporate sailing race, through many backpacking experiences across the world and all manner of sports. Today she is also looking at ways in which the world of business can do more to nurture philanthropic initiatives.

Marie-Laure holds a Masters in International Business from University Paris IX Dauphine and loves exploring our French and American cultural differences and perspectives, working to help both sides leverage each other’s strengths so that jointly we can make our planet not only truly “sans frontieres” but a better place for all.
