Alexandre Chenesseau

Alexandre Chenesseau is a Managing Director at Evercore and is based in New York. Alex advises corporate and private equity clients on cross-border mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and capital raising projects in Asia, Europe and North America. He focuses mainly on the technology, media & entertainment, digital gaming, consumer goods and business services industries.

Prior to joining Evercore, Alex worked at Lazard in Paris, Beijing and New York. He started his career at Lazard in Paris. Between 2011 and 2016 he was based in Beijing and advised both Chinese and foreign companies. His work has included strategic transactions between France and China, advising both CAC 40 companies as well as small-to-midsize French companies and entrepreneurs on their China market strategy and regional partnerships. More recently, he was a Vice President in Lazard’s Telecom, Media and Technology group where he worked on transactions across the North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Alex is passionate about international affairs, diplomacy and policy issues. In Beijing, he co-founded a local think tank which hosted debates and published reports on topics including entrepreneurship and innovation systems in China. Over the years, Alex has been eager to connect like-minded people through meaningful causes and social activities, particularly as it relates to China and Cuba, where his mother was born. Additionally, he currently co-chairs the China Supper Club, an informal food community in New York which organizes monthly dinners to introduce its members to new food experiences while supporting local entrepreneurs in New York’s Chinese restaurant scene.

Alex was born in Paris to a French father and a Cuban-American mother, and has lived in Asia for over twelve years. He is an alumnus of Sciences Po Paris and Harvard Business School, where he completed the Program for Leadership Development. Alex is also a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations.
