The Cyberweapons Arms Race

Online - Public

New York Times bestselling author Nicole Perlroth will join the foundation on January 20 to discuss her book, “This Is How They Tell Me the World Ends: The Cyberweapons Arms Race,” and elaborate on the protection of critical infrastructure. Based on years of reporting and hundreds of interviews, the book discusses zero-day software bugs– hacks that allow others to spy on iPhones, dismantle safety controls at power plants, alter elections, and shut down the electric grid. Nicole covers the shadow markets already taking place and reveals the urgent threats of the global cyber arms race.

This webinar, in partnership with our sister foundation in France, is part of a larger Cyber Security program at the Foundation that brings together leaders from government, industry, academia and the non-profit sector to discuss critical and timely cyber security issues such as critical infrastructure protection.

The discussion will be moderated by our 2016 Young Leader Dr. Cara LaPointe. She is Co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Assured Autonomy and leads the Foundation’s Cyber Security Program.
