Policy breakfast with Gina Adams
Public
The French-American Foundation was honored to welcome Gina Adams, Corporate Vice President for Government and Regulatory Affairs at FedEx and French-American Foundation Board member, as guest of honor at our latest Policy Breakfast on May 4. The discussion was moderated by Geoffrey Chepiga, Partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and 2019 Young Leader.
Ms. Adams opened the conversation by sharing a look into her own professional background and rise to her position as a leading public policy executive at FedEx. She went on to discuss both the opportunities and challenges of leading during the pandemic, and how she navigated the pandemic response by working with governments around the world to adapt to changing regulatory requirements, such as lockdowns and safety restrictions. As a leader of an essential business, Ms. Adams noted the importance of demonstrating steadfast commitment to maintaining universal standards for essential workers amid continued pandemic uncertainty. She then highlighted what the future of work could look like post-pandemic and the growing demand by new audiences for an increased understanding of trade flows. Finally, Ms. Adams discussed FedEx in France (and Europe) and the impact of the FedEx hub at Charles de Gaulle Airport and the critical role it plays in connecting the U.S. and Europe.
The Policy Breakfast initiative is one of the French-American Foundation’s key programs that bring together leaders from various fields to discuss topics of economic, social, and political importance with a guest of honor. Participants include 20 to 30 high-profile individuals, such as finance professionals, government experts, philanthropists, and Young Leaders of the Foundation. Breakfasts typically start at 8:30 AM and last roughly one hour, during which the guests of honor share their views on specific topics, followed by questions and remarks by the participants.
