Policy Breakfast with Ambassador Philippe Étienne
Invite Only
On Tuesday, January 18, the French-American Foundation was honored to welcome Ambassador of France to the United States Philippe Étienne for the Foundation’s first Policy Breakfast of 2023.
Ambassador Étienne spoke about the French-American relationship and current issues impacting both countries. The morning began with reflections and key takeaways on French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent state visit, as well as each country’s response to the ongoing war in Ukraine and its impact on transatlantic relations. Participants asked questions and engaged in conversation on additional subjects, including French-language education in the U.S., the Inflation Reduction Act, relations with China, energy prices, the expansion of French tech in the U.S., and the reformation of apprenticeships in France.
Thank you to Ambassador Étienne and the entire team at the Embassy of France in the United States and the Consulate of France in New York for such a thoughtful and engaging discussion!
The Policy Breakfast series brings together leaders from various fields to discuss topics of economic, social, and political importance for both France and the U.S. Learn more about this program here.
