Since 1986, the French-American Foundation, with the long-standing support of the Florence Gould Foundation, awards annual Translation Prizes for the best translation from French to English in fiction and non-fiction.

Congratulations to all 2011 winners:

  • Mitzi Angel for 03 by Jean-Christophe Valtat (Farrar, Straus & Giroux) and Lydia Davis for Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert (Viking/Penguin Group) in Fiction
  • Frederick Brown for Letters from America by Alexis de Tocqueville (Yale University Press) and Jane Marie Todd for Reading and Writing in Babylon (Harvard University Press) in Non Fiction
