George M. Birman
George Birman is an investment professional with Eurazeo, the Paris-based private equity firm. Based in New York, he is part of Eurazeo Brands and focuses on investing in high-growth consumer and retail brands. He currently serves on the board of directors of NEST Fragrances. Previously, he was with VMG Partners, a consumer-focused private equity firm in San Francisco. Prior to VMG, he managed mergers and acquisitions and corporate strategy at Heineken NV in the U.S. and Latin America. He began his career at Rothschild, where he worked on consumer and retail sector mergers and acquisitions.
He holds an MBA from The Wharton School, and an MA in International Studies from The Lauder Institute at The University of Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate studies at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where he majored in International Politics and spent a year on exchange at Sciences-Po Paris. While at Georgetown, he spent a year interning at the Embassy of France to the U.S., where as a part of the Press Attaché’s office, he focused on public diplomacy and developed a strong interest in the transatlantic relationship. He speaks French, Spanish, and Russian.
