Thomas Moatti
Thomas Moatti is a director in Lazard’s Sovereign Advisory Group. He joined Lazard in 2011. Between 2011 and 2017, Thomas worked closely with the governments of Greece (2012) and Ukraine (2015) on their sovereign debt restructuring exercises. He has also advised numerous governments in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East on the implementation of economic reforms and financing strategies. Still at Lazard, Thomas currently advises the governments of Zambia, Ghana, Sri Lanka and Cyprus.
Between 2019 and 2022, Thomas was responsible for “special situations” at Pharo, a €12bn asset management company specialized in emerging countries.
Thomas is passionate about political and international economy. He had the opportunity to teach macroeconomics at Harvard with Professor Jeffrey Frankel and he obtained the the Dean’s Award for excellence in Student Teaching.
Thomas is involved in charitable associations in the field of tennis, a sport he played at a high competitive level in his youth.
Thomas is a graduate of the Ecole des Ponts Paristech, the Paris School of Economics and the Harvard Kennedy School.
