Alexandre Chenesseau
Alex is a Managing Director at CMD Global Partners, LLC, a boutique investment bank headquartered in Chicago. He is based in New York and focuses on advising clients on mergers, acquisitions and strategic transactions in the Interactive Media, Consumer and Technology sectors globally.
Alex previously served as a Managing Director at Evercore in New York, responsible for advising North American and European clients on cross-border transactions in Asia. Prior to Evercore, Alex spent the first decade of his career at Lazard in the firm’s Paris, Beijing and New York offices. He worked in Beijing between 2011 and 2016, and contributed to the establishment of Lazard’s Greater China investment banking practice during the most active years for Chinese cross-border investment. In addition to working with Chinese private, state-owned and publicly-traded companies, he advised both foreign Fortune 500 companies and SMEs on their China market-entry strategy, acquisitions, joint ventures and capital raising transactions. He has been a frequent speaker on the topic of China’s financial system and cross-border investments. More recently, he served as a Vice President in Lazard’s Technology, Media and Telecom group in the firm’s New York office.
Alex has served in several leadership and board roles for non-profit organizations. In Beijing, he co-founded a local think tank which hosted debates and published reports on topics including entrepreneurship and innovation systems in China. Alex is a founding member of the French-American Foundation’s Transatlantic Forum. He was recognized by the Asia Society in New York as an Asia 21 Next Generation Fellow, and serves on the organization’s “Dragon & Eagle” US-China Rising Leaders Council. Alex also serves as a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is an alumnus of Sciences Po Paris and Harvard Business School.
