2019 Cyber Security Conference

September 25, 2019

On September 17 and 18, the French-American Foundation hosted its sixth-annual Cyber Security Conference in Washington, DC. Co-hosted by the Foundations in the United States and France, the conference assembles cyber experts from government, military, academia, and the military to discuss key issues in cyber security from a transatlantic perspective.

This year, the theme of the conference was Emerging Cyberspace Challenges: From 5G Security Risks to Social Media Governance. Keynote speakers included representatives of US and French Cybercommand; the US Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Justice; and business executives on both sides of the Atlantic. Discussions included the following topics:

  • Law Enforcement & Digital Technologies
  • Emerging Cyber Threats
  • Social Media Manipulation
  • 5G Technology
  • International Cyber Security Cooperation

We would like to give special thanks to the French-American Foundation – France, with whom we co-host this event every year; to Cara LaPointe, American Young Leader from the class of 2016 who served as Program Director for the conference; and to Greenberg Traurig, who generously hosted us for the third year in a row.
