The Awards ceremony took place in New York on November 10 at 12:30pm. In conjunction with the presentation of the 2016 Immigration Journalism Awards, the Foundation hosted Jean-Marie Guéhenno, President and CEO of International Crisis Group. He served as the United Nations Under Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations between 2000 and 2008. In 2012, he was appointed deputy joint special envoy for Syria by the United Nations and the Arab League. Prior to joining Crisis Group, he was director of Columbia University’s Center for International Conflict Resolution.
