Augustin Paluel-Marmont, 2012 Young Leader, is the co-founder, along with Michel de Rovira, of Michel et Augustin. The two created this line of food products in 2004, that started with shortbread cookies (Petits sablés ronds et bons), and soon grew to include premium yogurt and yogurt drinks (Vache à boire), cookies, savory cookies, juices, and sharable desserts.
In promoting the philosophy of Michel et Augustin, Augustin created the events la Nuit à la Belle Etoile and Changez Votre Vie - Changez votre ville - 100 triporteurs, as well as organizing a series of conferences, "Boire une vache avec..." He was a co-coordinator of la journée mondiale de la Trisomie 21 (International Day in recognition of Down's Syndrome), president of the association La Différence est une chance, and an administrator of the association Bouée d'Espoir.
Prior to this culinary "adventure," Augustin was a co-founder of Pertinence Data Intelligence in 2001, which was later acquired by Partech Ventures. Augustin has a degree in business from Paris X and Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris - Europe and is a trained baker and pastry chef. He was also a co-author of the Guide des Boulangeries de Paris (édition de l'IF). Augustin is a member of the Ordre National du Mérite.
Emma Fuerst Frelinghusyen
Emma Frelinghuysen has 15 years of experience in consumer-facing food and beverage. In her current role, Emma is leading the marketing organization for the BluePrint brand -the category leader in fresh, cold-pressed beverage. Prior to this role, Emma had a strategy position within the Hain Celestial organization, where she helped the company improve revenue coming from ecommerce channels.
Emma spent 7 years at FreshDirect, the leading online grocer, building the company's product assortment and managing profitability. She initiated the concept and launched the company's private label program, which now consists of over 150 products across several brands.
Prior to FreshDirect, Emma spent time on the Johnnie Walker and Guinness brand teams at Diageo North America. She also spent 4 years at Williams-Sonoma working in public relations and marketing communication, where she developed the celebrity chef in-store book signing program.
She has a BA from Trinity College and an MBA from Stanford. She also has completed the basic cooking and wine programs at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. Emma is a City Chair for the Groton School Women's Network and a Mentor for Accel Foods - a national food and beverage accelerator. She is a former member of the Advisory Board of The James Beard Foundation. She lives in New York with her husband and two children.
